Knowledgeable & Experienced Springs Manufacturer Professionals

Ajax Wire Specialty Company, headquartered in Hicksville, New York was founded in 1933. It is family-owned with the third generation now managing the company. Ajax is known for making extension springs, compression springs, torsion springs, various spring assortments, as well as custom springs and prototypes. There are over 1,500 stock items of material that include brass, galvanized hard drawn wire, music wire and stainless steel. Ajax makes springs from wire as small as ten-thousandths of an inch in diameter. They also do private labeling, custom packaging that includes short runs and barcoding. Ajax has state-of-the-art automatic, semiautomatic and manual equipment to accommodate both long and short runs. To meet a customer’s specific needs, Ajax will produce one spring or a thousand springs.

Springs Are Everywhere

Springs are used everywhere in our daily lives – cars, toys, locks, guns, electronics, appliances, military equipment, medical instruments, office equipment, and more. As Ajax describes it, “springs are used in everything from cars to clothespins.”

Over the years, the family has not hesitated to put money back into the company’s facilities to maintain maximum efficiency. Therefore, customers keep coming back because of the extraordinary service. “Our goal is to quickly and reliably meets the needs of the customer, whether those needs are for custom parts, short runs, or overnight delivery of a stock item,” says Ajax Wire Vice President David Ellner.

Ajax Found a Unique Product Line & Mastered It

For three generations, the people at Ajax have been designing, producing, and selling an incredible variety of springs in a wide range of materials. The team knows how to meet specific compression and extension needs while accommodating challenging environments. David took over the company’s reins from his father-in-law, Joe Elowsky and has been in the spring business for 28 years. Joe Elowsky’s daughter and David’s wife, Patricia, is the President of Ajax and has been in the business for 26 years. In charge of customer service is John Mignone who has been with the company for 13 years. If a customer doesn’t know much about the technical side of springs, the people at Ajax do and they are ready to help.

In tough economic times, fastener suppliers look to add something new to offset declining demand, whether it’s new customers, new markets, or new products. Springs are a logical complement to fasteners – top-quality springs from a reliable, knowledgeable, service-oriented manufacturer. That brings us to Ajax Wire Specialty Company “where it’s SPRING time throughout the entire year.”
